Among five studies, including three cohort and two case-control studies, which met the inclusion criteria, 314,056 participants were involved in the cohort study and, in the case-control study, 4,043 cancer cases were recruited along with 3,910 controls. Research indicated that artificial sweetener consumption was not linked to breast cancer incidence (odds ratio = 0.98, 95% confidence interval = 0.94-1.03).
